Wiesbaden Visits

May 4th, 2009

This extended weekend we had friends from my hometown over and thankfully the weather played along nicely. I think we had a really great time with long nights, a few tasty drinks and long walks in the bright sunshine all around Wiesbaden.

Night At The Museum

April 27th, 2009

… NOT THE MOVIE!!!

But we really did spend the night at the museum. Actually we spent all evening walking from one museum to the other. I had the impression that whole Frankfurt was wandering around at that night. And you saw people who didn’t look like the would usually go there. All in all it was a fun night and the weather did its best to make it a great one. As ususal here are some pics for those who weren’t there :)

Enjoy!

myZeil, deiZeil

April 5th, 2009

As if visiting Frankfurt twice in one week wouldn’t be enough we took the train a third time. But this time not to attend the music fair but to take a long walk through the city and simply enjoy the beautiful weather.

March 27th, 2009

It has been way too long since I wrote the last post. But not because I was too boared or nothing happened, but exactly the opposite. We moved to Wiesbaden and I am writing my diploma thesis at the moment. A lot to do and a lot to discover. And till I have somthing more exciting to share, here are some eye candy. Enjoy.

Gone fishing?

August 8th, 2008

Not quite. The semester was busy and finaly its over. One of the projects this semester was to produce a little animated short film which was a bit of work, and a lot of fun in the end. Thanks to the team who gave their best to make this thing become real (and I think it paid off ;-) ) . I really like to share the 2 min. movie with you all, so here it is.

Another fun thing to work on was a little OpenGL game for the computer graphics course I took part in.
Lunar Lander
I also have to thank Patrick for the beautiful textures. Great job.

At point zero

September 12th, 2007

or where the time is made

No, this is not going to be a story about Jules Verne and we did not try to make a Journey To The Center Of The Earth. We went under ground first though.

We took the tube to North Greenwich station and accidently ended up at the O2, aka The Milenium Dome. Of course we had to explore that first and I must say it’s quite impressive. A massive pleasure dome with everything you need for an evening at the concerts, exhibitions or movies. Beeing there I took Andrea to Nando’s for lunch.

The O2

Too lazy after the tasty chicken burgers we jumped on the bus and went down to Greenwich.

Greenwich

We walked past the Greenwich University straight into the Queens House, where they have some paintings. But not the art but this spiral stair caught my attention.

Greenwich

Further through the park and up the hill (yes, I was surprised too that they have something like that in London) and reached our destination.
After walking through the insightful museum about time and things related to it we hit point zero. Actually it is not a point but a line and like all the tourists here we had to take some touristy pictures.

Greenwich

On the way back we read about the foot tunnel which leads from Greenwich to the Isle of Dogs.

Greenwich

Not very viewy it was pretty interesting though and makes a cool location for the movies. (I know I’m not the first who had the idea)

Greenwich

Back at daylight the opposed bank presented this gorgeous view of the Greenwich University and the Queens house in the middle.

Between Camden and Paddington

June 6th, 2007

After spending some time in Camden we decided to walk home (partly at least) along the canals and past the London Zoo though whats called Little Venice.
It was a beautiful walk and I highly recommend it.

Pirates in Little Venice

Everywhere you can see these typical house boats along the canal. It is really a very calm and relaxed atmosphere although beeing in the middle of this metropolis.

Tate a tate

June 4th, 2007

What to do when the weather is cold and wet? Go to the museum, so we went to the Tate Modern.

Tate Modern

But to see not only the usual masterpieces but also live performances of DJ’s and experimental musicians. It was great fun and interesting to watch and listen to.

Fly with the Eye

April 10th, 2007

As the clouds broke up we went to the ticket shop to get us 2 ticktes for a flight with the eye. 14,50₤ for the half hour ride isn’t cheap, but it’s really worth doing it though. On a clear day you can see over to Windsor Castle and even if not, you have an incredible view over London from 135 meters on the highest point. But see yourself.
